Had an amazing day learning about SOLE (Self Organised Learning Environments.) After engaging in SOLE activities, I have a better understanding of how to facilitate student directed learning activities that appeal to a wide range of learning styles. It is important to formulate learning around real world problems as it opens up more opportunities for students to be creative and critical communicators.
4/5K were eager to begin their SOLE journey together. Students decided on their groups themselves and assigned roles. The students were very excited to get started. Each group devised their own unique method of answering the question. Some relied on research where as others loved to make up creative answers.
Feedback from students was very positive. They all wanted to know when they could tackle their next question. Student's also reflected on their effectiveness in the role they were assigned and what they would do differently next time.
